Tools to find buyer intent posts on Reddit and X: 7 compared in 2026
By Shun, founder of Ownfeed · Updated · Prices checked · 9 min read

Tools that find buyer intent posts on both Reddit and X include KWatch.io, Ownfeed, Awario, Buska, Syften, Octolens and Brand24. Prices run from $19 to $249 a month. Only some judge buying intent for you, and the rest give you keyword alerts to sort yourself. All prices were read from each company's own website on November 1, 2026.
A disclosure first: I build Ownfeed, one of the tools below. To keep that from bending the comparison, the tools are sorted by their cheapest paid plan that covers Reddit and X, and every section says who the tool is not for.
What buyer intent means here
A buyer intent post is one where a person says they have a problem you solve or asks for a tool like yours, such as "any alternative to X?" or "how do you handle invoicing for freelancers?". A keyword match is weaker: a post that contains your category word may be a news link, a joke or a job ad. The tools below sit on a line between the two. At one end are keyword alerts. At the other are tools that read each post and keep only the ones that look like a person in need.
Table 1 lists price, platforms and how each tool judges posts. Table 2 compares how each delivers results, since a daily list changes how you work compared with a stream of alerts. Figure 1 shows the entry prices as bars.
| Tool | Cheapest paid plan (USD per month) | Platforms | How it finds intent |
|---|---|---|---|
| KWatch.io Essential | 19 | Reddit, Hacker News, X, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn | Keyword alerts with AI analysis |
| Ownfeed | 39 | Reddit, X, Bluesky, Hacker News | AI keeps posts where your product helps |
| Awario Starter | 49 | Reddit, X and other social sites | Boolean search on topics |
| Buska Starter | 49 | 16+ sources including Reddit, X, LinkedIn | Buying signals and ICP profiles |
| Syften Standard plus X add-on | 89.95 | Reddit, X, Hacker News, Bluesky and more | Query syntax; AI from Standard |
| Octolens Pro (billed yearly) | 159 | Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and more | AI filters all mentions |
| Brand24 Individual | 249 | Reddit, X, Facebook, LinkedIn and more | AI sentiment analysis |
KWatch.io: the cheapest way to cover both
KWatch.io monitors keywords on Reddit, Hacker News, X, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn. Essential is $19 a month and gives 20 alerts each on Reddit and Hacker News but only 2 on X, with filtering, saved results and AI analysis. Business is $79 with 10 X alerts, the API and bulk keyword import.
Not for you if X is your main channel, because 2 alerts is a sampler. It is also a keyword tool, so judging intent stays with you and your word choice.
Ownfeed: a daily feed from your product URL
Ownfeed is the tool I build. You paste your product URL, it reads the page, and every day it searches public posts on Reddit, X, Bluesky and Hacker News. AI keeps only posts where your product would help, such as a person describing a problem or asking for a tool, and puts them in one feed. You reply in your own words. It never posts for you and never connects to your accounts. It costs $1 for a 1-day trial, then $39 a month, or $89 every 3 months.
Not for you if you need LinkedIn, brand-name tracking, exact boolean queries or alerts within minutes. It finds people who need a product like yours once a day, and some days the feed is short.
Awario: topic monitoring for brands
Awario is a social listening tool with Reddit and Twitter monitoring pages. Starter is $49 a month on monthly billing ($29 a month billed yearly) for 3 topics, unlimited keywords per topic, 30,000 mentions a month and Boolean search. A topic can be your brand, a competitor or a set of problem phrases, so you can build your own intent searches.
Not for you if you want ranking by buying intent. The tool shows mentions, and the reading is yours.
Buska: signals and ideal-customer profiles
Buska says it keeps only posts with a date and real buying intent. Starter is $49 a month with a 7-day free trial and no card, covering 5 signals and 2 ICP profiles across 16 or more sources including Twitter, Reddit and LinkedIn, with daily lead updates and Slack or Discord notifications. Growth is $99 with 28 or more sources, updates every 3 hours and an AI reply studio.
Not for you if you want a tool built for one person. The pages speak to sales and growth teams, and its setup starts from ICP profiles rather than a product URL.
Syften: precise filters, X as an add-on
Syften watches Reddit, Hacker News, Bluesky, forums and more with query filters. Entry is $29.95 a month but has no X. X monitoring is an optional $40 a month add-on on Standard ($49.95) or above, so Reddit plus X starts at $89.95. AI filtering starts on the $49.95 Standard plan. The trial is 14 days without a card.
Not for you if you do not want to write search filters. It is powerful, and you build the intent query yourself.
Octolens: wide coverage with AI filtering
Octolens covers Reddit, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Bluesky, Hacker News and more. Pro is $159 a month billed annually for 10 keywords and 15,000 mentions, hourly refresh, AI that filters all mentions, a daily brief email, and an API and MCP server. It has a 7-day trial without a card.
Not for you if you are a solo founder on a tight budget. It is designed for marketing teams.
Brand24: brand tracking at the top of the range
Brand24 monitors Reddit, X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, news and blogs. Individual is $249 a month ($199 billed yearly) for 3 keywords, 2,000 mentions a month and 12-hour updates, with AI sentiment analysis. It has a 14-day free trial.
Not for you if the goal is finding buyers on a small budget. It measures sentiment and reach around a brand.
Reddit-only options for a cheaper start
If your buyers are mostly on Reddit, two cheaper tools skip X entirely. RedShip checks Reddit every morning and sends a shortlist for $29 a month. Subreddit Signals classifies posts in up to 10 chosen subreddits by buyer intent for $29 a month. Neither watches X, so they do not belong in the table above.
| Tool | Setup | Delivery | Free trial or free plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| KWatch.io Essential | Keywords per platform | Alerts; speed not stated | Free plan |
| Ownfeed | Product URL | Daily feed | 1 dollar, 1 day |
| Awario Starter | 3 topics with keywords | Alerts and reports | Free trial, no card |
| Buska Starter | 5 signals and 2 ICP profiles | Daily lead updates | 7 days, no card |
| Syften Entry | Query filters | Email, Slack or API | 14 days, no card |
| Octolens Pro | 10 keywords | Hourly refresh and daily brief | 7 days, no card |
| Brand24 Individual | 3 keywords | 12-hour updates | 14 days |
How to choose
- Decide whether you want alerts or a daily list. Alerts suit brand names and competitors. A daily list suits a founder who sets aside 20 minutes to reply.
- If you want the tool to judge intent, compare Ownfeed, Buska and Octolens. If you prefer to write the queries, Syften, Awario and KWatch.io give you more control.
- Check what X costs on each plan. It is an add-on on Syften and a small allowance on KWatch.io.
- Use a free trial for a week and compare how many of the posts you would really reply to. Count them, and ignore the totals the tool shows.
- Write the replies yourself. Reddit communities remove promotional comments, and a tool that posts for you puts your account at risk.

FAQ
What are the best tools to find buyer intent posts on social media?
For Reddit and X together, Ownfeed ($39 a month) and Buska ($49) both aim at buying intent, and Octolens ($159, billed yearly) filters every mention with AI. KWatch.io ($19), Awario ($49) and Syften ($89.95 with X) are keyword tools. Prices were checked on November 1, 2026.
Which tool monitors both Reddit and X for potential customers?
KWatch.io, Ownfeed, Awario, Buska, Octolens and Brand24 list both, and Syften covers both when you add its X monitoring for $40 a month on top of the $49.95 Standard plan. RedShip and Subreddit Signals are Reddit only.
Is there a tool that sends me daily posts from people looking for a product like mine?
Yes. Ownfeed updates a feed every day from your product URL. Buska's Starter plan sends daily lead updates, and RedShip sends a morning shortlist from Reddit only. Octolens sends a daily brief email.
Can I find buyer intent on X for free?
Not with a free plan that covers it. KWatch.io's free plan allows no X alerts, and F5Bot does not cover X. X's own search can be used by hand, and Ownfeed offers a $1 trial.
Do these tools reply for me?
Buska has an AI reply studio that drafts replies, and Subreddit Signals has a comment builder. Ownfeed never posts and never connects to your accounts. Whatever the tool, post the reply yourself and keep it useful.
Method and limits
- All prices and features come from each company's own website, read on November 1, 2026. Where a page did not show something, it is left out rather than taken from a third-party site. Prices change, so check before you buy. Buska's buska.app site could not be reached, so its details come from buska.io.
- Tools were chosen from earlier research on social monitoring and lead tools, limited to tools with a visible price that list both Reddit and X. Mentionlytics was left out because its monthly and yearly prices could not be read apart. The list is not exhaustive.
- A tool listed as covering a platform means its own site lists it. Awario's and Brand24's pages list Reddit and X as sources. I did not test how well each tool finds buying intent or compare result quality.
- Conflict of interest: I build and sell Ownfeed, one of the tools compared. No tool paid for or reviewed this guide, and there are no affiliate links.
