Terms of Service
Effective date: October 3, 2026
These Terms cover what Ownfeed does, what you pay and to whom, how to stop paying, and what we each promise. Questions are welcome at support@ownfeed.dev.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Ownfeed — the website at ownfeed.dev, your account, and the feed we build for you (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, buying a plan, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What Ownfeed is
You tell us about your product. We collect public posts from the platforms listed in Section 8 that may be worth replying to — people describing a problem your product addresses, looking for a tool like it, or mentioning it or a competitor — and show them to you in one feed. Collection runs about once a day.
Ownfeed never posts for you. It does not post, reply, vote, or send messages on any platform, and it has no access to your accounts there. If you reply to a post, you do it yourself, from your own account, and you are responsible for following that platform's rules and any law that applies to you — including rules about disclosing that you have a commercial interest in what you recommend.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to enter a binding contract. Accounts are passwordless: you sign in with Google or with a link sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping control of that address and for what happens under your account. Each plan covers one product. Accounts are for you and your own team; do not share your sign-in outside it.
4. Plans, billing, and renewal
Prices are in US dollars. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Every plan renews automatically until you cancel.
- Trial — $1 today. One day later it switches to the monthly plan automatically: you are charged $39, and then $39 every month. If you cancel before the day is over, you are not charged $39. One trial per person. To keep it that way, we keep a one-way hash (SHA-256) of your email address, even after you delete your account (see the Privacy Policy).
- Monthly — $39 per month. Renews every month.
- 3 months — $89 every 3 months. Renews every 3 months.
While a plan is active, you cannot buy another plan on top of it. If a renewal payment fails, the Service may be paused until the payment succeeds, and the plan may end if it keeps failing.
We may change prices. A change never affects a period you have already paid for; a new price applies from the next renewal after we tell you about it.
5. Payment, seller of record, and tax
Payments are sold through Stripe Managed Payments, on a checkout page hosted by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe; we never receive or store them.
- Link, a Stripe company, is the merchant of record and processes your payment. Ownfeed is the party that provides the Service to you, and these Terms govern that.
- The charge appears on your card statement as something like LINK.COM* OWNFEED.
- Receipts and invoices are emailed to you by Stripe / Link.
- Tax. Outside Japan, any tax that applies (such as VAT or sales tax) is added at checkout, and Stripe collects and pays it. For customers in Japan, the prices shown include Japanese consumption tax.
- Questions about a payment can also go to Link support. Anything about the Service itself comes to us at support@ownfeed.dev.
6. Cancellation and refunds
Cancelling. You can cancel any plan at any time from the billing page in Settings, which opens Stripe's customer portal. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. If you cancel a trial before its day is over, you are not charged $39.
Refunds.
- The first $39 charge after a trial: if you ask within 48 hours of that charge, we refund it in full.
- No other payment is refunded: not the $1 trial, not later monthly charges, and not the $89 3-month charges. We do not refund part of a period pro rata.
- Exceptions: where the law requires a refund, and when we charged you by mistake (for example, a double charge).
- If we end or suspend the service for our own reasons, we refund the unused part of the period you have paid for, pro rata by day. This does not apply when we suspend or terminate your account for a breach of these Terms (see Section 14).
To ask for a refund, email support@ownfeed.dev from your account address. When a payment is refunded, that plan ends at once. Nothing in these Terms limits a refund or cancellation right you have under the law where you live.
Deleting your account. Deleting your account cancels your plan immediately. Any time left in the period you have paid for is lost, and it is not refunded.
7. What we deliver, and what we do not promise
- Not every post. We do not find every relevant post. Some days there are few or none, because few public posts matched your product.
- Automated judgement. Which posts reach your feed is decided by software, including large-language models. It can be wrong in both directions. Read a post yourself before acting on it.
- Posts change. Public posts are edited, deleted, locked, or hidden, sometimes between the moment we collect them and the moment you read them. We do not guarantee that a post is still available, accurate, or current.
- No outcome is promised. We do not guarantee that anyone will respond to you, that a reply will survive a platform's moderation, or that anything turns into a customer.
- Timing. The daily collection is a target, not a deadline. Runs can be delayed or fail.
8. Public content and third-party platforms
We collect posts that are publicly visible on the following platforms at the time we collect them. We do not access private groups, direct messages, or any other non-public data.
- X
- Bluesky
- Hacker News
The list of platforms may change: we may add or remove a platform, or pause one. The Service depends on platforms and data providers we do not control; if they change their rules, interfaces, or availability, the Service may be interrupted, limited, or changed without prior notice. The posts you see belong to their authors and remain subject to each platform's terms.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or register a product that is unlawful;
- use what you find through the Service to spam, harass, impersonate, or deceive anyone, or to post the same message across many threads;
- resell, republish, or redistribute your feed or the posts in it as a data product, or use them to train a competing model or service;
- probe, disrupt, or try to access non-public parts of the Service, access it by automated means outside the app, or misrepresent who you are when using it.
10. Your content
You keep all rights to what you give us — your product's URL, its description, and the terms and competitors you set. You grant us the limited right to process it in order to provide the Service to you, including sending it to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy, and for no other purpose.
11. Intellectual property
The Service — including the site, the software, and the Ownfeed name and branding — belongs to us. Your feed is licensed to you for your own business use: finding and answering people who may need your product.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ownfeed and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service — including anything that follows from a reply you posted, such as a removed post, a suspended account, or a moderation action against you. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including, where it applies, the Consumer Contract Act of Japan).
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms. If we do, we do not refund any part of the period you have paid for. If we end or suspend the service for our own reasons, we refund the unused part as described in Section 6. You may cancel at any time as described in Section 6, and may delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7 and 9 through 13) survive it.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms. If a change is material, we will give notice on the site or by email to your account address before it takes effect. Using the Service after the new effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance, except where mandatory consumer-protection rules provide otherwise.
17. Contact
Ownfeed is operated by Shunsuke Nakagawa, an independent developer based in Japan. For anything about these Terms, email support@ownfeed.dev. Customers in Japan can also read the Legal Notice (JP).
